Maintenance Release 5.1.3364

Happy New Year from all of us at Datalust! 🥳

A new year, a fresh release schedule: we've decided to reorganize our release plans for 2020, and bring forward some fixes into a maintenance release, 5.1.3364, which you can now download from the Seq website and from datalust/seq on Docker Hub.

• The Seq Windows service would sometimes not start automatically upon reboot because of missing service dependencies; this has now been fixed
• Searches/queries with @Timestamp comparison subexpressions no longer require exponential time to compile
• Evaluation of complex like comparison subexpressions no longer backtrack, avoiding timeouts and server resource consumption
• When using the "Search FROM/TO timestamp" shortcut, setting one timestamp no longer clears the other
• Seq Apps can now be installed from feedz.io NuGet feeds
• The idle session timeout for new installs will now default to 48 hours instead of no timeout
• We fixed an internal server error that was triggered by scrolling through search results based on @Timestamp comparisons
• In the signal editor, removing a filter from a signal no longer triggers edit mode for the next listed filter
• The retention policy editor now defaults new policies to 30 days rather than zero, and uses the placeholder All events instead of a blank item to indicate that no filter will apply to the policy
• Hovering over the title of a truncated item in the signal bar now shows the full title in a tooltip
• A bug causing startup failures after an unclean shutdown was fixed

Upgrading

Today's maintenance release is an in-place update: all you need to do to apply it is run the MSI (on Windows), or re-launch the Docker container. Please drop us a line via support@datalust.co if you have questions or need any help with the upgrade process.
